Vegan food in Nice and Cannes

We went to Nice and stayed for a week. We also went to visit Cannes. There was a lot of vegan food to eat and many fully vegan cafès and restaurants to choose from. Here are the places we went to and my opinion about all the food.

All the places we went to are vegan, beside Carrefour market/City.

The first place we went to was:

Amour Patisserie Vegetale

A small cozy cafè with baked goods and breakfast/lunch options on the menu. My boyfriend got the smoothie bowl, which didn't taste much. I got the omelett, which was really good but the portions was small so I didn't become full. We also got a cake called opera, it was good but not really our kind of cake.

The next place:

Not dog

A place just before the old town where you can get vegan junk food. We ordered the granola yoghurt bowl, maple joe (seitan sausage) and bisoff milkshake. It was amazing! One of my favourite places in Nice.

The next day we went to:

Cabane du 12

A vegan grocery story with a small tea room, where you can order food. My boyfriend went for the risotto, which was really good. I had the rigatoni, which was okay. I'm not a big fan of tomat sauce on it's own, so it wasn't the best choice for me. Also had a cookie, it was lovely. And a madeleine, it was okay. We came back later to grocery shop. I got some french cheese (brie and blue cheese), crackers, salami, salmon, beyond tenders chicken-style, bacon and some soy granules. The brie tasted just like I rememberd, so did the blue cheese and was perfect on crackers. The salami was made for seitan and sooo good. The salmon tasted like real fish and we didnt't like that, so we gave that one away to someone. The chicken tenders we really liked for dinner that day. We haven't tried the bacon yet and soy granules we brought home, because we don't have anymore left. On Saturdays you can get croissants, so we went back then. We had a plain one and a pain au chocolat, it was amazing.

For lunch we went to:

Mange Voyage Aime

A cozy place a bit out of centrum and the owner was really nice. We ordered a smoothie and juice, both were refreshing. For food we went for was buddha bowl, with homemade vegan halloumi and lunch bowl. Both were good. We were too full for dessert.

Our third day we went to:

La Dame au Cerf

For drinks we got limonade and smoothie. For food we had ceasar salad, bunini with cheese and croissant. The ceasar salad was good, but could use some more spices. The bunini was like a sweet bun toasted and had melted cheese. I really liked it. The croissant was perfection. We went there for food our last day, but then we were really dissapointed of the food. It was a sunday and you couldn't order everything, just what they had left. Had a sorf of toasted cheese sandwich with bechamel sauce and a type of vegan ham. It was just too much and over the top. We got a muffin as well, and it tasted too much of baking powder. The milkshake was too heavy for my taste and a little sickening, but the cream was good.

For the rest of the food shopping we went to:

Carrefour Market/City

Our closest grocery shop was Carrefour City, but it didn't have that much vegan options. We got butter, falafels, soy milk, beans, bread and bulgur. A follower gave me a tip that Carrefour Market was bigger and would have more vegan option. Thanks to her! They had a lot more vegan meat subsitiutes and marinated tofu. We made dinner most nights at the apartment, to both save money and time with travelling in and out of the city.

We went to Cannes to eat at:

Acai spot

My favourite places of them all! My boyfriend had a acai bowl, sooo good! I got the smoothie and it didn't taste that much, so a bit dissapointing. And I had a bagel with vegan cheese and ham. OMG! It was mindblowing.

Another place in Cannes:

Cinq Concept Store

It was really hard to find, as there was not a clue to see outside that the store was serving food. At last my boyfriend went inside and found it. He got us two different wraps, one with beans and one with jackfruit, I think. It was not good at all. The jackfruit one was a little better, but honestly I couldn't even finish half of the wrap.

In the old town of Nice:

Caju

A great place with lovely owners. The service was amazing and food was excellent. We had one smoothie each, pineapple one and cremè caramel. The pineapple one was best. One burger each, french and front porch. Really good homemade burger bread as well. Our favourite was front porch.

Our last night we went to:

Koko Green

Another resturant in the old town, just open in the evenings. We made a reservation earlier the same day and it was a good choice, as the restaurant was fully booked when we came. The starters we had was kimchi pancakes and cheese board. The cheeses tasted less than the ones I bought at Cabane du 12. They were okay, but not as good. The kimchi pancakes was great and a little spicy. For main my boyfriend had nasi lemak, which was a dish with vegan chicken and egg. This dish was really good. I had gnocchi alla norma, it was a very basic. It was okay, but nothing mindblowing. For dessert we shared a mango and passionfruit cheesecake, and it was amazing! The best dessert I've eaten in a long time!
